Dynamic Embodiment™ Practitioner Training
Dynamic Embodiment® Somatic Movement Therapy Training leads you through Dr. Martha Eddy’s 35-year blend of Laban/Bartenieff studies with Body-Mind Centering® that integrates skilled touch, movement, & compassionate dialogue to help people of all ages and abilities to relieve their own stress, find enhanced expressiveness, and balance all aspects of the body and psyche. The primary training focus is on assisting individuals whether privately or in groups, to achieve their physical potential The training also includes a social-emotional lens and an activist approach.
To join this program, you must have approximately 300 hours of study with a Registered Somatic Movement Educator/Therapist in a variety of subjects. Certification programs that prepare you to study DE-SMTT include Moving on Center and programs that focus on Body-Mind Centering®, Laban Movement Analysis, and Bartenieff theory, all of which link to Dynamic Embodiment® and qualify most for this advanced program.
Every student will be supported in her or his own scholarship – whether it is designing curricula, engaging in case studies, executing new hands-on techniques. Additional applications based on these principles include publishing articles, making creative statements, and conference presentations.
Exit projects are integrated into each stage of studies (e.g. a series of case studies, designing a movement lesson, class or program, adapting a lesson plans for a specific population.)
